Lab data
Wedding Cake potency: THC, CBD and terpenes from 3,090 lab tests
In 3,090 state lab tests, Wedding Cake flower had a median total THC of 23.01%, with the middle half of results between 20.25% and 25.72%.1 CBD is negligible, and β-caryophyllene is the leading terpene, followed by limonene and β-myrcene, the same order Leafly lists.1,2

How published THC figures compare
Strain databases publish a single figure or a range: Leafly lists 24%, Weedmaps 23–25% and AllBud 25–27%, and Leafly’s 2019 Strain of the Year article put the average around 21%.2,3,4,5 Seed sellers advertise 19% (Royal Queen Seeds’ autoflower), up to 20% (its feminized version, whose description says 23%), 25% (ILGM, Zamnesia) and 27% (Barney’s Farm, 28% in its description).6,7,8,9,10 In state lab results, 90% of Wedding Cake flower tested below 28.19% and one in ten below 17.36%, so the 27–28% claims sit in the top quarter of lab results, while Leafly’s 24% falls inside the middle half.1 The highest single result in our data was 34.94%.1
By state, medians ran from 19.19% in Maryland (237 tests) to 26.98% in California (60). In every year with at least 100 tests (2019–2023) the yearly median stayed between 22.39% and 23.57%. The 2024 median, 20.56%, rests on only 42 tests. Nevada, Michigan and Washington supply 87.8% of the tests, so differences between states and years mix growers, labs and markets.1

Limits of this data
- Coverage is uneven. Nevada (1,343), Michigan (1,043), Washington (327), Maryland (237) supply most of the 3,090 tests, which date from 2018 to 2024; Oregon and Rhode Island results carry no product names and could not be matched.1
- Some labs report higher THC than others, so we publish medians and middle ranges rather than maxima. No single lab accounts for more than 18.1% of these tests (49 labs in total).1
- Terpene medians come from 1,388 tests with individual terpene values, 96.8% of them (1,343) from Nevada labs, so the profile is largely Nevada’s. Maryland reports only total terpenes (220 tests), and Washington, Michigan and Hawaii report none.1
- We matched names strictly: crosses and near-miss names (for example "Royal Wedding Cake", 281 results) are excluded and counted, and duplicate certificates are removed.1
